What is this medication?

MYRBETRIQ (Mirabegron)
Beta3 Agonist

MYRBETRIQ (Mirabegron) is indicated for management of overactive bladder.

How does this medication work?

MYRBETRIQ (Mirabegron) is a select beta-3 adrenergic agonist that causes the detrusor smooth muscle to relax allowing the bladder to increase its capacity.

How should I take this medication? 

Oral: Take 25mg to 50mg daily.

How to Take: Can take with or without food.  Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not chew, divide, or crush.

What should I watch for while using this medication? 

Before starting MYRBETRIQ (Mirabegron), make sure your physician is aware of any allergies or medications you currently take.  MYRBETRIQ (Mirabegron) can cause an increase in blood pressure which should be monitored periodically during treatment.  If you have a history of QT interval prolongation or receiving medications that are known to prolong the QT interval, never use more then the recommended dose only.

What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose of medication, try to take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, take only that scheduled dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

How should I store this medication?

Keep out of the reach of children at all times.  Store at room temperature, 59 to 86° F (15 to 30° C).  Protect from light.  Keep the container tightly closed.  Properly dispose of any unused medication after the expiration date.

What are the possible side effects of using this medication? 

Hypertension, tachycardia, headache, dizziness, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, urinary tract infection, cystitis, influenza, muscle, and joint pain, nasopharyngitis, sinusitis.
