What is this medication?

JUBLIA (Efinaconazole)
Topical Antifungal; Azole

Efinaconazole (Topical) is indicated for the treatment of onychomycosis (fungal nail infection).

How does this medication work? 

JUBLIA (Efinaconazole) inhibits fungal lanosterol 14-alpha-demethylase, which is important to produce ergosterol; an important component of fungal cell membranes, eventually resulting in cell death.

How should I take this medication? 

Topical: Apply to affected toenail(s) once daily for 48 weeks.

How to Take: Follow instructions provided by physician/pharmacy label, apply to entire nail and surrounding skin consistently at same times each day unless otherwise directed, make sure the nail is dry.

You Need to Avoid: Do not store bottle on its side once it has been opened to prevent leakage.

What should I watch for while using this medication? 

Before starting use of JUBLIA (Efinaconazole), make sure your physician is aware of any allergies or medications you currently take, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose of medication, try to take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, take only that scheduled dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

How should I store this medication?

Keep out of the reach of children at all times. Store at room temperature, 20 to 30° C. Protect from light, heat, and moisture. Keep the container tightly closed. Properly dispose of any unused medication after the expiration date.

What are the possible side effects of using this medication?

Burning, stinging, and itching of application site (uncommon and generally mild reactions), ingrown toenail.
